This years peony season was wild. The weather in Melbourne was much colder and wetter than average, plus a couple of massive storms. Luckily the peonies didn’t seem to mind too much. I was away at the beginning of the season visiting family in Tassie, but I think we cut around 800 flowers this year. There are about 40-50 first and second year plants that are still very small but they look very happy so the coming years should bring more flowers. The Peony Patch is almost full – only 21 spots left which I will fill this Autumn with some of our extras from outside the patch and I will purchase some more coral peonies because I love them.
Here are a couple of pictures.
